Dear Students and Parents:
On July 17th, California Governor, Gavin Newsom announced a mandate that required counties on the Covid-19 monitoring list to begin the school year utilizing distance learning. As a result of this mandate, San Joaquin Valley High School will begin the school year utilizing a distance-learning platform.
Providing meaningful learning opportunities while attending to the health and safety needs of our students and staff will remain at the forefront of everything we do. San Joaquin Valley High School will have high expectations and challenge all students to do what it takes to become successful during this difficult time.
Our goal is to provide distance-learning activities through Zoom and Edgenuity, which will require high levels of critical thinking and reasoning, accompanied by application of learning to real-world situations.
Parents, you can support your child during the school year by ensuring they are completing assignments and logging in daily to their assigned classes. The consistent support and encouragement of parents will result in greater success for all students. I look forward to a very successful school year. Please stay involved, and call on your child’s teacher, counselor, or administrator for any assistance you may need during the 2020-2021 school year.
Israel Almendarez, Principal
