NOTICE OF HEARING REGARDING PROPOSED ADOPTION OF A DEVELOPER FEE STUDY AND THE INCREASE OF THE STATUTORY SCHOOL FEE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Governing Board of the Parlier Unified
School District will hold a hearing and consider input from the public on the
proposed adoption of a Developer Fee Justification Study for the District and an
increase in the statutory school facility fee (“Level I Fee”) on new residential and
commercial/industrial developments as approved by the State Allocation Board on
January 22, 2020.

IMPORTANT UPDATE CONCERNING VIRTUAL LEARNING

On July 21st, the Parlier Unified School District Board of Trustees passed a resolution that pushed back the start of school from August 17th to August 25th (for Cohort A) and August 26th (for Cohort B). For our staff, this affords us more time for professional development, in order to prepare for a robust virtual (online) instructional program. For our students and parents, this provides more time to prepare, also, for the start of school.

IMPORTANT UPDATE CONCERNING THE REOPENING OF SCHOOL

On July 17th, California Governor, Gavin Newsom, held a press conference and announced a mandate that affects Parlier Unified School District. There are 58 counties in California and the County of Fresno is one of 35 counties on the COVID-19 Watch List. Therefore, students in Parlier Unified School District must start school utilizing a distance/virtual learning model rather than coming to their classroom on the school campus. This is a directive from the Governor, the State Department of Education, the California Department of Public Health, and the Fresno County Health Department.
